School starts back for most and I imagine some of our kids are going to need help with Algebra, English or Biology. But, Fortnite? Some parents are hiring tutors in order for their kids to be better players?!
As any parent knows, kids are obsessed with the game Fortnite. The free game is a global phenomenon, and its popularity shows no signs of slowing down.
Well, it seems some parents have lost their marbles when it comes to their kids’ obsession as well. According to a recent report in The Wall Street Journal, parents are actually hiring gaming tutors for their kids -- so they can become better players. Seriously, parents are paying $20 an hour so their kids can improve their Fortnite skills.
Parents reason that kids who struggle to be successful players feel left out of the Fortnite social circle. According to mom Ally Hicks, whose 10-year-old is getting tutored in the game, “There’s pressure not to just play it but to be really good at it.”
Other parents are hoping a child with super Fortnite skills could be profitable because of tournaments and video game competitions. Some parents even liken hiring video game tutors to sports coaches. (Mommyish)
