Trivia: Males that are headed off to college are more likely to do this!

You’ve heard of the “Freshman 15” – the common expression that refers to the weight gain college freshmen often experience during their first year at school. Well, according to a new study, men gain twice as much weight as women do during their freshman year at college. It's not quite 15 pounds, but guys gain an average of eight pounds after a year in school, while women gain only four.

Researchers found that both men and women eat more unhealthy foods when they go away to college. But, men tend to consume more of this junk food. And, of course, there’s the drinking, with men chugging twice as much alcohol as women during the first year away. (Philly Voice)
