Our Mississippi Sales Tax Holiday is Friday and Saturday

Our schools are set to be back in session soon, so that means it's time for our MS. Sales Tax Holiday.

To be honest, I'd forgotten all about it this year. That's what happens when your day-to-day is filled with Covid info and trying to make sense of it all. Here are some of the details:

  1. No sales tax on articles of clothing, school supplies or footwear as long as each item is under 100 bucks.
  2. School supplies mean the normal stuff used by a student in a course. Unfortunately, I don't imagine Air Fryers or Play Stations count.
  3. Let's revisit the "below" 100 dollar amount. If I'm understanding correctly (and I typically make boo boos, ) You are good with a 50 dollar pair of shoes, a 50 dollar shirt, some 50 dollar pants and so forth. It's the pants, shirt or shoes that cost over 100 dollars for each item that you'll pay the normal 7% tax.
