Time to add more veggies to your diet. A new study has found that cutting back on meat could make you drop pounds faster and even give your metabolism a huge boost!
Research published in the Journal of the American College of Nutrition found that adults with Type 2 Diabetes that committed to a vegetarian diet of grains, vegetables, fruits and nuts lost twice as much weight as dieters that consumed meat with the same caloric intake.
The vegetarian diet also reduces muscle fat, which results in a higher metabolism. If going completely meat free seems like a stretch, experts say try cutting back by eating one meatless meal a day. (Redbook)
