Remember Choose Your Own Adventure books when you were a kid? You could read the same book several times and completely change the story. This week, Netflix is launching two new kids’ shows that are following a similar model. Puss in Book: Trapped in an Epic Tale and Buddy Thunderstruck: The Maybe Pile will allow viewers to interact directly with the storyline.
During certain scenes, viewers will be prompted to make choices with their remote that will alter the story. How cool is that?! For now, interactive programming will be limited to animated kids’ shows, but experts say it’s only a matter of time before full-length films and adult series feature similar interactive components.
