According to statistics from the U.S. Department of Labor, 70% of moms with kids work, and of those working moms, 75% have full-time jobs. That doesn’t leave much free time for carpools, parent-teacher meetings, doctor's appointments, karate lessons and household chores.
According to a recent study conducted by Welch’s Grape Juice, if you add up the total time the average mom works between her paying job and the hours she contributes to parenting and running a household it comes out to about 98 hours a week. That’s like holding two full-time jobs ... and then some! The average mom works a 14-hour day from about 6:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. and she only gets about an hour a day for herself.
So what helps these very busy moms cope? According to the Welch's survey, moms rely on coffee, support from grandparents and babysitters, wet wipes, Netflix and, of course, wine. (Woman's Day)
