Don't Miss these local events this week! June 5-11

Wednesday, June 6:

Local author Margaret McMullan is leading a writing workshop at the Pass Christian Library Wednesday afternoon at 2pm.  Kids will be able to write stories, essays or poems during the free event.  


It's open mic night at The Celtic Irish Pub in Pascagoula  Check out some of the coasts best songwriters between 8 and 11:30pm.


Thursday, June 7:

Let out your inner American Idol at the Kiln Public Library from 3-4 Thursday afternoon at the Kiln Public Library.  Karaoke fun.  


The South Mississippi Summer Fair opens at the Coliseum in Biloxi.  Rides, live music, shows, contests and fun, children under 12 get in free.  


Bingo Rocks for Adults at the Gautier Libraryfrom 5-7 Thursday night.  No charge for the fun.

Long Beach Bicycle Ride and Diner starts at 6 Thursday night on the Town Green.  A five-mile loop ride through town for all ages.  Bike and helmets required.  


Ever wanted to learn to tango?  Lessons with Tango Kim start at 7 Thursday night at Argentine Tango, on Howard Avenue in Biloxi.  


Friday, June 8:

Adult Board Game Night at the Mockingbird Care in Bay St. Louis.  They'll have games there, or you can bring your own.  5-8:30pm


Safe Sitter Classes are being held at the Ocean Springs Hospital from 8-4pm.  This one day course for students 11 and older covers all the skills needed to become a certified safe sitter, like first aid.  


Saturday, June 9:

There's an Outdoor Craft Market at Beach Blvd. Market in Gulfport Saturday every Saturday through Dec 22nd from 10-3pm.  Jewelry, ceramics, home goods and homegrown food.  


Spring Grow Box Sign-Up at the 34th Street Wholistic Gardens on 34th Street in Gulfport.  Sign up now for spring grow boxes, free seeds and planting instructions.

Sunday, June 10:

Sensory Sundays is an exclusive event for children with autism spectrum disorders.  It's coming up Sunday from 10-noon at the Lynn Meadows Discovery Center in Gulfport.
