Things are only going up from here for hit rapper, Tyga. The artist came out the the iHeartRadio Theater in Los Angeles for a special album release event performing new songs as well as the classic hits and yes, a Rolls Royce was on stage! The exclusive concert took place on June 5th hosted by J Cruz, Jason Lee, and Chuey Martinez. Fans not able to be in Los Angeles also had the option to watch the show via livestream.
Still reeling from his hit single "Goddamn" released in April, Tyga is making big moves this year collaborating with a number of artists this year, including YG on "Go Loko," Marshmello and Chris Brown for "Light It Up," G-Eazy and Rich the Kid for "Girls Have Fun," and Ally Brooke on "Low Key".
The event included multiple interviews with Tyga, giving viewers a more intimate get to know you experience. The Rack City artist has been apart of the rap game since he was a teen and knows that he's not slowing down one bit.
“You could never count somebody out. You just got to stay focused. I don’t really really feed into everything else that’s going on outside of what I’m focused on, what I’m doing. Now, it feels good that people are really appreciating that.”
Like a lot of people, Tyga is still missing fellow artist and friend, Nipsey Hussle. Much of 2019 has seen a plethora of artist mourning their dear friend Hussle through special performance tributes. When asked what his favorite piece of jewelry is, Tyga opened up that the piece he prefers is one for his friend.
“This is crazy, the piece I wear the most is actually a smaller chain, but it has Nipsey's face on it... I wear that a lot actually.”
One fan acknowledged that he and Tyga shared the same love for mint chocolate chip ice cream and wanted know what his other favorites might be.
“I like Asian food and Mexican food, but I probably eat the most fried chicken.” Homemade- specifically from his mother!
The show closed out with a special guest visit from YG to perform their latest collab, Go Loko. Tyga's new album, Legendary is scheduled to drop on Friday, June 7.
“I was just putting out singles, just putting out party vibes, and I was just recording as I went and people were like ‘We want an album! We want an album!’ So I was like it’s only right one year later, let me drop it for the summer.”
We can't wait to hear it!
