Zac Efron Teaming Up With Disney For First Time Since 'High School Musical'

Zac Efron is returning to his Disney roots for the first time since his High School Musical days. The 32-year-old actor has signed on to star in an exciting reboot for streaming platform Disney Plus.

So, what film reboot drew Efron back to Disney? Efron is set to star in a remake of the 1987 classic Three Men and a Baby. The original film starred Tom Selleck, Steve Guttenberg and Ted Danson as New York bachelors who find themselves caring for a baby girl left on the doorstep of their loft. The movie proved quite successful for Disney at the time, as well, going on to be the first live-action Disney film to cross the $100 million mark domestically. The stars reunited for a sequel—Three Men and a Little Lady—following the success of the first film.

Efron is currently the only actor attached to the film, however, Gordon Gray—known for popular sports dramas The Rookie andThe Way Back—is set to produce the remake. Will Reichel wrote the script for the remake, as well. Disney is currently searching for a director.

This isn't Efron's first foray into streaming-exclusive projects. He's recently found success with projects on Netflix, including serial killer biopic Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile and docu-series Down to Earth.
