Sydney Sweeney is right where she wants to be after calling off her wedding to ex-fiancé Jonathan Davino.
The Euphoria actress and her former partner have reportedly broken off their engagement and split after seven years together, with a source telling People on Monday (March 31) that their relationship had been "rocky for a long time." The pair were first linked in 2018 and got engaged in 2022.
Rumors about the potential end of their relationship took off after Sweeney deleted a photo of her and Davino kissing from an Instagram post shared in January boasting about some of her "favorite" moments of the past year. She was also reportedly living separately from Davino in the weeks leading up to reports of their called-off wedding.
Despite the end of their relationship, the source said the Anyone But You star is focusing on her career.
"She's exactly where she wants to be. Most people would feel overwhelmed by her working schedule this year, but not Syd. She's all about working right now and very excited about all her projects," the source said. The added that the actress is "in the middle of this magical career that she could only dream of a few years ago... This is what she wants to focus on right now."
The source noted that while Sweeney is thrilled with her professional life, her personal life navigating a relationship and planning a wedding was more complicated.
"What did make her overwhelmed though was her relationship and her wedding," they said. "She didn't feel right about it," the source said, adding, "She's not ready to settle down. They only lasted for this long because it was hard for her to break it off. They didn't split because there is no love. They split because she just wants to focus on her career right now."
