Maxwell wants to be your best friend! He's our Pet Of The Week #HSSM

Meet Maxwell! This one year old pup was found roaming the streets looking for his forever home. After animal control brought him to HSSM, we’ve made it our mission to help him find one. He was very nervous when he first came to us. Our team began working with him and he started to come out of his shell. One our foster parents stepped up to foster him and he's been enjoying a break in her home for the past several weeks.

Maxwell wants to be your best friend. He would make a wonderful pet for someone looking for a loving and loyal companion as he loves spending time with his person. He's a good pup for taking around town and will sit patiently while you dine at dog-friendly restaurants or picnics in the park. Maxwell is very mild-mannered overall and has a few playful bursts of energy each day nibbling on his squeaky toys. His favorite activities are taking naps and cuddling with his favorite person. He enjoys taking walks and doesn't pull on a leash though he does get excited when he sees a squirrel... or a cat. Maxwell is still learning how to get along with other dogs but with continued training, he is learning to better his social skills. He enjoys taking walks with the neighbor's dog and will need patience and training as he makes new doggy friends.

Maxwell is an AMAZING dog and is so loved by his foster parents. He is affectionate and easy going. He sleeps on the couch in the living room every night and happily greets them with kisses each morning. They are certain he will bring a lot of joy to your home!!

Maxwell tested positive for heartworms but thanks to generous donors his heartworm treatment is covered at HSSMs Wellness Clinic. He has started pre-treatment meds and can be adopted at anytime to continue to his treatment through.
