Less than 24 hours after Gov. Reeves signed legislation retiring the 1894 state flag, it's being brought down at the State Capitol for the final time. The two flags flying above the House and Senate chambers will be lowered at 3 pm today and handed over to Lt. Governor Hosemann and Speaker of the House Gunn who'll present the flags to the Department of Archives and History during a ceremony at the Two Mississippi Museums. The Museum of Mississippi History plans a special exhibit about the state flag.
