It looks like Bill O'Reilly's hiatus at Fox News is about to be permanent. New York magazine reports that he'll step down before ending his vacation next week.
Reps for the conservative talking head are in negotiations with the cable news network and its parent company, with a sticking point being whether he'll have a chance for a final sign-off. Execs are said to be opposed to that. Another issue is that he just signed a $20 million contract extension last year.
Pressure for O'Reilly to step down or be fired has ratcheted up as sexual-harassment allegations continue to swirl. On April 1st, the New York Times reported that he'd settled five different lawsuits for a total of at least $14 million.
