Tony Romo never won a championship on the gridiron, but he hopes to have better luck on the links.
The recently retired quarterback will be among 9000 golfers trying to qualify for the U.S. Open. Qualifying tournaments start Monday, and he'll be one of 117 players at Split Rail Links and Golf Club in Aledo, Texas hoping to advance to sectional qualifiers. Only 51 golfers total will qualify for the Open, which takes place in Wisconsin in June.
Romo tried to qualify in 2011 and advanced to the sectionals, but weather delayed that tournament and then he had to return to the Dallas Cowboys for off-season workouts. (USA Today)
