Do you get nervous about going to your work Christmas party? Well, lets rule out one source of anxiety, and that is what to wear! Great tips from Country Living:
As if there wasn’t enough to stress about during the holiday season, you also have to worry about what you should and shouldn’t wear to all the holiday parties you’re invited to during the next month.
To make life easier, New York- based stylist Marissa Adele, has come up with a “What Not To Wear” holiday edition, so you always look perfect no matter the occasion.
Don’t over glitter: Sparkle is perfectly acceptable during the holiday season, but keep it to one piece of clothing or accessory or you run the risk of being mistaken for a Solid Gold Dancer!
Don’t wear sneakers: You don’t have to sacrifice comfort for fashion. Choose a stylish pair of flats instead.
Skip the evening gown unless it’s a black tie event: Bring the length up and go with classic styles instead of pageant attire
Unless it’s an ugly sweater party, skip the holiday themed attire: That light up Santa hat is festive but it might not be appreciated at the fancy cocktail party your partner’s boss hosts every year.
Skip the make-up tutorial: Go with a classic makeup look you are comfortable in. If you want to add a little drama, the holidays are the perfect opportunity to rock a red lip.
Don’t wear stilettos: You are probably going to be standing for a good portion of the night so choose a heel that’s comfortable.
Don’t wear the same suit you wear to work: A little more pizazz, even during a work party, is completely acceptable. (Country Living)
