Is your work place empty today? 17 million people didn't show up for work.

According to a recent survey, 17.5 million American workers are not working today, the day after the Big game. The survey, by the Workforce Institute at Kronos, found that 11.1 million employees say they will use pre-approved time off today, but 4.7 million employees said they would be calling in sick – even though they’re not. And 1.5 million workers said they won’t tell anyone they’re not coming in – they just won’t show up. Another 7.9 million employees are undecided and will wait until the last minute to decide whether to show up to work today.

And it’s no wonder lots of people want to make today a national holiday -- 40% of those surveyed said today should be a holiday, compared to 32% in 2019. 63% said the Big Game should be moved to the Sunday night before Presidents Day, which is already a national holiday.
