It's been about 16 years since I flew to San Antonio to see my son Jay graduate from Air Force boot camp. What a PROUD Daddy moment! I appreciate his 6 years of Air Force Reserve service as well as all of our men and women that serve our country.
Due to the Coronavirus, Keesler AFB will be used as an alternate site for basic training. Generally, groups of 650-800 recruits arrive at Lackland in San Antonio for basic training. Soon, about 60 trainees will go to Keesler under the 737th Training Group for basic training." This short-term plan will stagger smaller groups in order to allow for social distancing and more frequent cleaning.
Unfortunately, Proud parents and grandparents won't be able to attend these graduations because of the Covid-19 pandemic. But- we will all be proud of them.
