Weird. I was thinking about this yesterday, and saw this story pop up this morning. (I believe it was on the Today show Saturday morning.)
If you normally wear contacts, it's safer for you if you put your old glasses back on. The American Academy of Ophthalmology is recommending that contact lens wearers should switch back to their glasses for the time being, to help stop the spread of coronavirus. According to their website, "Contact lens wearers touch their eyes more than the average person." So- look in your dresser drawer, or on top of the refrigerator, and grab your old glasses. You may not think you're as attractive with them, but you will add a layer of safety to your sheltering in place by not touching your eyes as often.
Also- wearing glasses affords you more protection because they act as a barrier to airborne droplets. (Today)
