I exercise to help out my middle age "ticker." Also- to stay strong and maybe burn a few extra calories since I struggle with my diet. Here's another reason to exercise that was published in The Ladders.
The list of reasons why exercise should be a part of everyone’s daily life just got longer. A new study out of the University of Virginia’s School of Medicine found that incorporating exercise into your daily routine doesn’t just improve your physical and mental health -- it can help prevent or delay severe vision loss.
Specifically, exercise can help prevent and slow the progression of macular degeneration, one of the most common forms of blindness that can often occur with aging. It has also been shown to help with other eye problems including glaucoma and diabetic retinopathy.
The best part? You don’t have to do intense training to reap the benefits. All that matters is that you are active -- intensity isn’t a factor. (The Ladders)
