Are you still trying to hit those 10,000 steps everyday? You don't need to!

At one point, I was trying to hit those magical 10,000 steps a day that we had heard were the minimal amount we should be walking. Right? I gave up. It was just too much for me.

Well, according to some new "science" on the issue, 10,000 was actually a tad too many:

Scientists have found that people who walked 7,000 steps per day had a 50-70 percent lower risk of premature death! So- I'm going to find my comfy shoes and get going. 7,000 is doable!

Those 10,000 daily steps? They were a marketing gimmick from a step-tracking device way back in the 60s.
