Meet Gumbo! Gumbo made his way to the shelter back in September after being picked up by a local animal control officer as a stray. Gumbo had one of the most severe cases of ringworm that we had seen in quite a while. Gumbo has now been fully treated and as you can see, his coat is growing back beautifully! He is now ready to be adopted into a warm and cozy home for the holidays.
If you can't commit to adopting at this time, you can always make a PAWsitive impact in the lives of our shelter pets by donating to HSSM's Chicken Soup Fund. HSSM spends over $250,000 each year on medical care for the pets entrusted to us. Donations made to HSSM’s Chicken Soup Fund are exclusively used to treat animals in the shelter who are sick and injured. HSSM is currently medicating 116 animals in-house and administering over 300 medications daily. HSSM has placed nearly 1,000 pets in foster homes to receive special care while providing weekly medical check-ups and supplying all necessary medications. EVERY DONATION COUNTS TO HELP PETS LIKE GUMBO!!!
