Our pets will hear the booming sounds....the strong smells and flashing colors of fireworks during the Fourth of July holiday. The Humane Society has some good suggestions on their website to help your pet. Here are a few:
- It’s best to leave your pets safely indoors, preferably with a radio or TV turned on to soften jarring noises.
- If you and your veterinarian decide on anti-anxiety medication, give your pets a practice dose before Independence Day to see how they respond.
- Also, it’s best not to put your dog in a crate, dogs sometimes hurt themselves if they’re scared, excited and caged in.
